A 4-star hotel in the heart of Ubud, Bali, encountered difficulties in finding a suitable site for sewage treatment plant (STP) placement due to the challenging sloping ground with sharp canyons, rivers, and rice terraces. The constrained space within the already operational hotel compounded the issue, exacerbated by problems with the previous STP system. Despite these obstacles, we have had many successful past experiences to address the current challenge, even openly in front of the hotel entrance like this.
In this case study from our project at Paragon Mall in Semarang, Central Java, we tackled the placement of a sewage treatment plant (STP) within a multilevel parking structure spanning from the first to the seventh floor. This unconventional placement was chosen to maximize space utilization. Despite concerns about potential odor issues in a public parking area, effective design and implementation ensured that no such problems arose
For Hotel Ombak in Gili Trawangan, Lombok, we implemented a split-level STP placement strategy, positioning half of the system above ground and half below. This approach is commonly employed for properties situated near beaches or rivers to prevent submergence of the system.
The Jayakarta Seminyak Bali has implemented an innovative approach to waste management by converting activated sludge into fertilizer. This process maximizes the use of waste, allowing the hotel to produce valuable fertilizer for its gardens, ensuring that no waste is created. This sustainable practice exemplifies the hotel's commitment to environmental responsibility and efficient resource utilization.
